Hey gents,

Is there a fairly pain-free way to delete DR-008 off of my Receptor permanently? I can't seem to get rid of it using the Uninstall Plugins option...

I know nothing of Linux, so hopefully someone has figured this out already and can assist me! Oh yeah, and I use Windows if that makes a difference...

Thanks in advance!

Slight hijack -

I "jailbroke" my Receptor just as described above - interrupted GRUB, logged in as root, changed the root password. Started sshd, all was good. Connected via a terminal on my Mac, we talked for hours. It was great ;)

Shut the machine down, came back a couple days later, fired it up and the network address information in the digital display on the front says all zeros (000.000.000.000) - if I try to set the address again it defaults back pretty quickly.

I've tried going to DHCP, manual TCP setup, you name it, nothing fixes it. I've logged back in as root, and the network just seems to be fubar. I jumped up into /etc/sysconf and looked at the network settings and scripts, it all looks OK as far as I can tell (not really my strong point) - anyone have any suggestions here about triage or a possible cause / solution?

TIA,
/perk

Changes made to Receptor hardware that are not authorized by Muse Research or software modfications which include accessing Receptors operating system with root access may void the warranty. Accordingly, you can expect Muse Research to charge you for service to that product if it requires service after the modification has been made.

For further details please refer to the User Agreement in the Receptor user guide.

And thank you for that Rick.

I am endeavoring to get drivers for a touch screen working for the box, which your dev team laid the ground work (SVGA out, keyboard and mouse available over USB etc) but has steadfastly refused to address, regardless of definite interest in the community. When I called the office and mentioned that I wanted to go this way AND offered to present the work for free to your company the reception was luke warm at best. All I requested was access to a developer, even via email, so that I could confer on technical challenges.

I now have about $1300 invested in hardware and software tying to make this work. If my efforts are successful then other professional musicians, like myself, whom find that neither the tiny LCD on the front or carting a Mac around with my rig are satisfactory solutions will be available to you and you will have invested exactly zero in R & D.

As technology consultant and programmer for over 30 years, I am vastly aware that I'll perhaps need to pay for services if you need to touch the box. In any case, thank you for that warm and fuzzy message of customer support.

If anyone else finds this post looking how to remove DR-008, Muse has a fixer file that does work to remove the plugin. I had to e-mail support to get it.

Muse: It might be handy for you to post the fixer file on your website.
