Love the arpeggios and the choice of sounds. That main lead sound is superb.

In terms of improvements, I think it needs more variety in the musical loop - it seems based on the same chord structure and my interest was drifting. Lifting up to some new chorus parts would give it more edge.

You are absolutely right about the chords; actually there are only two chords in the whole song.

I like it. Would work well as background music, not so well on its own because not many "dramatic" things happen. A ripping, shredding guitar solo, an unexpected harmonic twist, some spoken word, some sound FXs, etc., would add a "narrative" quality to it. I like your sounds very much though.

Actually, I tried to make it a bit like a soundtrack to some eighties TV-series. (Think Sonny Crocket from Miami Vice driving his Ferrari at night). That is why I didn't tweak or glitched the drums that much.

The drums are (except for the clap) one-shot samples from an old TR-808. The arpeggio was made in Predator, the bass in Trilogy, the lead sound is a preset from Atmosphere with the metaflanger plugin from Waves aplied to it. As my main host I used Ableton Live, but also energy-XT for some of the routing. All FX was from Waves.

But thanks for listening everyone. I will definitely take your views into account, and probably add som spoken word samples to it.


Being a part of KVR for a number of years I have come to realise that people (myself included) usally dont bother giving contructive criticism to other peoples work, except in the monthly competitions. So, to return the favour, I tell all of you who bothered this time to send me a message whenever you have posted a song on KVR and I promise you I will listen and give my views in a couple of days.

Some nice sounds in here. For some reason I don't think the mix is quite right. It doesn't quite sit as a 'whole' yet. Perhaps the main ARP is a bit overbearing too.

It doesn need some emlodic development but that is hard to do till you know how

The mixing and the mastering is always the hardest part, you know.

And since you're the forth person to say the track needs some melodic or harmonic development, I will defenitely will do that.
