Hi,

I have played a melody and recorded it.. or maybe it was harmony?
I am not sure, but it's played on the lower notes, from B1 to A2.

I don't know how to develop a full-length musical piece based on this melody,
and this is where you come in.

Any suggestions?

Just keep adding notes until it's long enough

er..It may be just possible to give some advice if you posted an mp3, but as all you've said is effectively 'I've recorded some notes. What do I do now?' I think you'll struggle.
You're not taking the piss are you?

I deleted the recorded material.
Just consider this as a general question.

After writing a melody, what do you need in order to write a piece of music based on that melody?
Is it the key on which the melody is played?

From the melody you can construct a chord progression. If you have problems with that, then first think of a second melody in parallel that goes with the main melody. An accompanying base line might help also a great deal. A bit of analysis will tell you then what the chords are.

That's a good advice, BertKoor.
Thank you. :tu:

Does all melody have to have 'chords' 'progressing'??

In our western music tradition they often do... But if you go beyond the beaten path, then no ofcourse not.

The OP said little about what it is. But, asked for help, with structure. Immediately comes the assumption, stick some chords on it once you got a tune.

It's a box, everything has to fit that box? Beat the path for her, then. Why?

Some days I hear melody all day long, not a chord in the ether as far as I'm concerned. All inna western hemisphere n stuff too.
