Hi:
I have a question. I have purchased and am downloading RMV. While doing so, I read the authorization stuff. I'm really confused. The computer I will be installing it on a computer that is not connected to the Internet (I'll burn a DVD from this computer).
I see that you are using a USB form of authorization. I already use iLok for Waves products. Can I use iLok with the authorization of RMV?
What should I do? I really don't want to spend more money on yet another USB product.

Frank, that really doesn't answer my question. I have a standalone computer. The FAQ said that using a software elicense in this situation is not possible. So my question was "can I use iLok?"

Just wanted to pop back in and say you are correct. I emailed Peter, who was gracious enough to reply and clarify. If your computer is a stand-alone, you'll need a USB eLicensor. I hope they reconsider this -- a lot of people use stand-alones (easier to optimize: no firewall, turn off unnecessary processes, etc). I think this will dramatically affect sales.
At any rate, wanted to thank you for your time and to confirm that iLok will not work and a USB activator is required for anyone using a stand-alone computer.

+1 All sales to me have been lost.... I purchased Cronox a while back, was going to buy RMV and SaxLab.. until the need to install software to check if I bought the software.......smueske wrote:Just wanted to pop back in and say you are correct. Two licenses at a time, for two machines of you.CinningBao wrote:I understood that we have the opportunity to install the soft-elicensed product on two machines, is this not true?
Please confirm maximum number of eLicenses available to us.

Have I understood something wrongly?
I tried to install RMV to my studio computer after having it in my mobile (live) laptop and there was no activations left. Only one is permitted.
Also the eLicenser FAQ states:
>>>
5. Is it possible to utilize a Soft-eLicenser-protected product on several computers?
No, this is not possible! In such case you need a USB eLicenser which you can obtain from our shop. Alternatively you can purchase the required amount of program licenses, so you can run multiple of them, however, this is not recommended due to high costs for you.
<<<
This is quite different politics than all the other software I have. These permits 2 or 3 activations intended to resolve this kind of double computer setup.. that certainly many people have.

Sorry Peter, but I think you have lost a definite sale to me also.
I may change my mind, I will have to have a hard think about it.
The fact that you want me to pay to "TRY" your software, irks me.
And you will not be losing a sale to Battery or Guru (your two main
competitors as I see it) I will just stick with shortcircuit 1 and 2
with the already awesome library I have.
I really, really want RMV. But, to me your concerns about piracy have
back-fired in this instance. I do understand those concerns Peter,
and appreciate what hard work and time you put into your top-notch
instruments.
If I could have tried it without SyncroS**t, I think I could have
been swayed. But I downloaded the demo yesterday and my heart sunk
when I tried to get it up and running.
I have great respect for you as a developer Peter and I am sure you
are doing what you think is best, I just thought that I would give
you some feedback, that's all. Take what you want from it.
And I may change my mind............I am going to have to dig very deep
for this one.
Btw - I wanted RMV as the ONLY paid for commercial piece of software
I am going to put on a new clean box. Everything else will be freeware
or unobtrusively protected paid for software - Reaper - EnergyXT.
Sorry Peter, but getting people to pay to try your software is just...
I think you get the picture.
Thanks for your time.

... Sorry, how much does it cost to 'try' RMV?
I was under the impression that it didn't cost anything.

... i still don't see where it says you have to pay anything to download a soft elicence to try out the demo?fuse wrote:http://www.linplug.com/Download /eLicenser/elicenser.htm
But i would agree that the soft elicence on one machine only is big-time suckage. I would urge Peter to rethink that one.

taoyoyo, if you are not connected to the internet (which I am not) then
you have to buy the authorisation usb dongle (if you do not already own
one - which I do not).
Still thinking about this, and I may yet change my mind.
Mmmmm, really want RMV - It looks a fantastic piece of kit.
I wish Linplug well for this product whatever I decide.
Cheers.
