Hi folks,
does anybody know a web resource explaining how simple 3 piece blues / 60s r&b brass parts are arranged ?
Mind you, I understand music theory well enough, it's not about notes and chords, it's more about voicings and which instrument plays which voice in a typical blues arrangement (sax, trumpet, trombone).
Your help is much appreciated,
susiwong

Eric Turkel covers arranging for brass in his book. Arranging techniques for Synthesists. It's out of print however still available used or in pdf format on the web.

Hey Mike,
sounds good !
Wasn't hard to track down a used copy.
Looking forward a lot to reading as soon as it arrives.
I'm quite confident it'll have the info I need as it's only some basic knowledge, got no plans for big band arrangements, only want to add some spice to a song or two.
If I've read up on the basics I can go from there, no problem.
Many thanks,
