We'll be showing early stages of the Ken Scott Collection at NAMM booth 6331, HALL A (right next to Steinberg and PreSonus in the Sonic Reality booth).
Ken will also be there on Saturday, ask him to sign one of your albums or something or if you want to meet him in person. He'll be busy with interviews at the booth but in between he'll be hanging around a bit. Ken recorded The Beatles, Pink Floyd, America, Procol Harum, Lou Reed, David Bowie, Duran Duran, Missing Persons, Devo, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Billy Cobham, Jeff Beck, Supertramp, Dixie Dregs, George Harrison, Elton John and many more. He's one of the most diverse producer/engineers in terms of style of music he's worked on from classic rock (his first orchestral session was "I Am The Walrus" - nice place to START!!!!!) to the first New Wave to Folk to the first FUSION. Pretty landmark stuff. He's just not a showboat to the media in any way which is why you may or may not have heard of him but google the man. (Oh he produced Happy The Man also and Gamma and...)

You can watch me screw up my interview with Ken Scott from the NAMM show. Those are kits and grooves coming for the Infinite Player in 3-4 months. Us messing up names aside, it's some pretty cool stuff!!!!! http://emusician.com/ms/namm/video/ken_ ... ollection/ There's also some behind the scenes footage here: http://www.recordproduction.com/ken-sco ... rding.html and if you like that and want to see more including your buddy Squids at the sessions recreating Crime of the Century or in the snow at a Farm outside of Boston with Bill Cobham then hang on and we'll be posting some cool new stuff on our youtube page

Hey Squids, when's Sonic Reality going to officially get some BFD2 products out? The Ken Scott stuff would be perfect.

We have the Ken Scott BFD kits pretty close to done actually. But, Ken and the drummers wanted the Infinite Player version to come out first because that has the audio grooves. So once that is out it won't be that much longer after that the BFD version will be out. Second part of this year probably.Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote:Hey Squids, when's Sonic Reality going to officially get some BFD2 products out? The Ken Scott stuff would be perfect.
We'll have some other BFD kits for download though sooner than that on www.downloadablesoundz.com Our new dedicated download site.

Hey Squids,
I seem to recall you saying in the "Neil Peart thread" that you had to release projects in the order you recorded them in, and that you wouldn't be releasing the Neil kit until after the Ken Scott collection was released. Now you are saying THAT will be the second half of 2009. Does that REALLY mean that the Neil Peart kit won't be available until the end of this year, or am I just misunderstanding it all......
Thanks,
Mike

Ken Scott Collection will be released in April. I was talking about the BFD version coming later. Neil Peart's will probably be just after that but you know it hasn't even been officially announced yet.mike1k wrote:Hey Squids,

Wow! Some nice memories there. Salty Dog and 6 wives of Henry the *th were two of my favorites. Of course I loved the Beatles, but Rick Wakeman and Procol Harem were part of my "underground" listening!

So what happened to this being released in April? We are heading towards July.......
Neil Peart kit was supposed to follow this? Where is that one at?
Thanks,
Mike

To do the Ken Scott Collection is a MAJOR MAJOR production involving a lot of people so we found that it was going to take us quite a bit longer as we were getting into the editing and mixing part. It's pretty deluxe but the way Ken wants to do it just takes longer... the kits themselves are almost done but the grooves... whew! It's a lot of work.
That said, we've decided to release the Neil Peart kit for BFD2 this Summer and eventually for Infinite Player as well along with the grooves. That too is a ton of work. The other thing is that we're using brand new Kontakt 3.5 scripts (and updating the previous Drum Masters kits which will be a free update) and this will allow selectable round robin, mapping for ALL e-Drum kits and other really cool new features... again, all a lot of work to do it RIGHT and to apply that to hundreds and hundreds of patches, thousands of samples... all just takes time.
We do have other things coming out late next month such as Serafine FX Tron and Cinema Sessions (we don't ONLY do drums!).
