Press release from
Line 6 has announced POD Studio KB37, a powerful USB audio interface that combines a 37-key MIDI controller and multiple inputs and outputs with a complete collection of pro audio software that includes POD Farm, the premium tone plug-in.

David Dolan, Line 6 Product Marketing Manager, told us, "POD Studio KB37 will revolutionize the way guitarists record, just like the original POD. It has the supreme power and flexibility that today's recording musicians demand for complete control over their software tracks, audio tracks and creative visions."

Here's all the details in Line6's own words...

POD Studio KB37 easily outperforms similar interfaces. It boasts up to 96 kHz/24-bit recording, exclusive Line 6 ToneDirect™ monitoring for near-zero latency, and the lowest noise for recording guitar. Plus, the included software bundle offers Ableton® Live Lite Line 6 Studio Edition 16-track recording software, Reason® Adapted virtual studio, RiffWorks™ T4 recording software, and POD Farm, the premium tone plug-in, for instant pro recording right out of the box.

In addition, POD Studio KB37 offers incredible flexibility with 37 full-size velocity-sensitive keys, a variety of software-assignable MIDI controls, and a comprehensive I/O that features two balanced XLR inputs with high-quality mic pres and phantom power, 1/4-inch guitar input (with -10dB pad), S/PDIF digital output, two 1/4-inch line inputs, two 1/4-inch analog outs, assignable VU meters and much more for a truly studio-quality recording experience.

POD Farm contains models of historic guitar amps, from vintage classics to must-have modern monsters, plus the studio-standard effects, stompboxes and preamps guitarists need to create pro-sounding recordings. Each immortal model is fully adjustable and comes in convenient Mac® AU/RTAS®/VST® and Windows® RTAS®/VST® formats to deliver legendary POD® tone to any DAW.

Pricing and Availability:
$419.99 MSRP

So it has 96/24 bit recording and direct monitoring. How new is that:)
Is this just a repacking with updated software? Seems like many manufacturers at NAMM have just small upgrades and are trying to advertise it as new products. The problem is that it is very difficult to see what is actually new in the press releases. So what is actually news for the KB 37? I have read the press release 3 times and cannot tell what is new and what is old.

Thanks, just software update then.

Is the PodFarm much better than Gearbox? More models only, or is the quality better?

The new version is totally black. That is good news.

Owners of the old version can download PodFarm for only 49 dollars!

Would ableton dare include simpler and their other plugins with their Live-Lite teaser? At over $400, I think such would be needed to garner good sales. The competition is going to be fierce this year :)
