FYI - Waldorf have released a new firmware update for the Blofeld, implementing a much better Multi Mode.
There'also a tantalising mention of 'Licence SL' - this will be a paid update to enable the 60Mb sample memory function in the desktop. Yay!

But beware: seems to be a bit halfbaked and buggy. Most notable, the MIDI-Sync of the Arpeggiator is reported to be broken. So keep old v1.04 at hand for downgrading, if u aren't satisfied with this update.

Hi,
Yeah actually I have found some weirdness - knobs not changing the parameters they're supposed to. I don't use the Arp, but midi sync would seem to be important here.
Will have to sit-it-out for the SL. I saw a price of €99 in some other forum - seems a bit steep to unlock a portion of a tangible asset, but hum-ho.

Maybe current information must be taken as "rumours". But from what I've read so far in other forums, the Sample feature currently is no fun: Proprietary (?) file format and Blofeld editor made by Waldorf is said to be released at Frankfurt Music Fair (April).
Honestly: I didn't buy Blofeld as a Sample thingie. If I need kinda "real" sounds, I still can trust on my old TG77. So it finally depends on the upgrade fee.

Mm. Clearly Waldorf do need to provide an editor, so that will be welcome - VST integration would be nice but I'm not holding my breath.
Proprietary sample format? I saw WAVs, or maybe the brain is too addled today.
It might be necessary though - to use samples as oscilators. Will have to see how it works. Can't see it being too painful if they provide a converter.
The sample functionality is interesting for me - having drums and vocals through those filters in multi mode could be interesting.
I wonder how far ahead Waldorf had planned alll this?

Currently, we must wait and see. But I'm already licking my credit card for the upcoming Blofeld editor.
Maybe I'll find some time this year to meet them at Frankfurt Music Fair for a thorough interrogation!

Still waiting for an official editor by Waldorf for both platforms (hopefully!)

P.S.: Only 10 days later the Waldorfs have release firmware v1.12 which addresses the annoying bugs, introduced in 1.11! Included is a new commandline tool for Apple Mac for painless firmware upgrade via USB. Works flawlessly so far...
