Think I would have been happy with this once, just because I think some aspects of the mix worked out ok.. (tried using some new saturation and tape sim plugs - i.e. d16 fx and nebula)

But it was mean't to be kind of Orbital like, and I don't think that comes across plus it's a bit repetitive.. too much time fiddling with new plugs and not enough on musicality methinks..

Knob twiddling in the future, that track proves that knob twiddling is good for your creativity.

BTW, do you mind sharing what you used to make it? Like those soft strings sounds at the beginning, they're fantastic.

It sounds very "The Knife". Which is good, the Knife kick ass.

I enjoyed it...

..but yes it could do with more variety, maybe a bigger break with new melodies in the middle then leading back into the main part, (adding a new lead to build tension towards the end)....
I like the very subtle pad in the right channel.. nice touch..

Cheers for the feedback. Nice to hear.

Sorry if it sounds a bit self doubting, it's not that.. just this track has really pushed me to concentrate on music going forward, rather than production.. that side is 'good enough' for me I think, and with this track I just realised I wasn't going to get much satisfaction from the engineering side of things in isolation..

As for the sounds.. The strings at the start are an absynth 4 patch called Sweet Girl, main lead is minimonsta and most of the other sounds are albino or reaktor .. mostly tweaked presets, some custom.. with several various fx on each.. drums are from drumazon.

Very pleasant track. I like the "voices in my head" effect. (I listen to KVR with headphones.) Nice use of the stereo field. Only suggestion: I'd trade the synth piano lead off to another voice to change it up.
