The Clear function in Augustus Loop

I'm using Aug' to loop guitar stuff with a midi pedal controller and it works great !
Now maybe i'm missing something, but the only thing that i'm not really fond of is the way the Clear Loop thing works. When the clear button is pressed, the memory is erased and the button stays lit... until the button is pressed again.

I totally understand it takes some time for the loop to be wiped of from the memory. But it would be great if the button only stayed lit while the memory was cleared and then just went off automatically. No need to press the clear button twice each time. And if the clear button could be controlled with a momentary button in a host like Usine, it would make it perfect for my use.

Anyways, thanks a lot for this great sounding piece of software !

PS : i've also noticed that in Usine, when connecting a fader controller to the pitch pin of Augustus Loop, the range of the pitch can be extended... (-24 to + 24 and beyond). That's pretty useful. See the pitch slider's position (on the stop button) in the picture below.

that's exactly how it does work - in every host I've tested. is this in Usine that it stays lit?

I just tried it in Usine, Plogue and Reaper, i can't get it to work like intended.

I record something with tap record, i press clear, i can see the memory being erased on the input meter, and the clear buttons stays on undefinitely until i click on it again.

Is there anything i could be doing wrong ?

probably not. probably just VST being a problem (I use the AU version when I use AL for my own projects). odd that nobody else has mentioned this though. I'll have to do some testing.

you're on Windows, I assume?

Yes, windows XP. :)

OK just tested in OS X, I assume it's the same.

VST works fine in Ableton Live. In Plogue, the Clear button stays lit. Though, if you keep the mouse over the button, you'll see that the parameter value does actually change back to 'off' (watch the value display top right). So it's just a GUI problem.

Given that some hosts work and some don't, it's not obvious whose problem this is, mine or theirs. I'll look into it some more.

Yeah it's not such a huge problem, i just found an easy workaround in Usine.

Now i can click a Usine interface button once and it clears the memory in Augustus Loop each time i click on it.

The clear button on the AL GUI stays on all the time but i can monitor the erasing on the input meter or using the waveform display, so it's all good !
