Hello I am having a problem with FL Studio 6 and 8. It is only playing about 25% of the wave files of instruments,
for example: in the FL browsers "Packs\Dance\DNC_Clap" does not play when I click it, but DNC_Clap _2 does, and very few others work as well. And when I opened DNC_Clap Etc. in Edison it does not show anything once Edison opens, no file loads in Edison. The same waves that do not work in FL studio do not work with Windows media player either, so I suspect the problem is not necessarily with FL studio. I do suspect that the problem is caused by installing a codec pack and uninstalling it when I had problems getting Adobe After Effects and other software to load. When trying to open these wave files with Windows media player it gives the error: "Error your computer is running low on memory close some applications" or something like that, and my computer has 1 GB+ of RAM and about 500MB free. These problem wave files do play fine with other applications Windows media player classic, QuickTime player, and probably others. Microsoft's real good problem solving website says it has no resolve for this problem at this time when I enter Windows media players problem playing the wave files. Okay I'm hoping even though Microsoft doesn't have a solution to this problem (if it's the same problem) I'm hoping someone came up with the cure for this problem with FL studio, hopefully just a simple settings configuration. In a web search some computer tech said that the low memory problem error is caused by a expired codec
causes this problem and if you turned back your computer to before the expiration Windows media player will again play the wave files Etc.. I uninstalled and reinstalled Windows media player in hopes of restoring the codec, as well as manually installing some windows audio codecs to no avail, thanks in advance all for any help with this problem, I'm hoping some FLstudio Etc. person will tell me it is a simple fix.

check in at the forum - I've heard of codec removal problems before, and they should respond promptly. Or you've installed them awkwardly,. perhaps?

Yep, it *sounds* like you haven't got the VorbisACM codec installed correctly. Look in your Imageline > FL > System > Installers folder. It should have been installed by default when you installed FL, but for some people it doesnt for some strange reason, just right-click on the file vorbisacm.inf and select "Install" from the popup menu.

Okay that was my rock 'n roll person impersonation, I'll try better next time. I did what you said and right-clicked on vorbisacm.inf and clicked install.

No problem, glad I could help, tho' tbh, this is one of the very few things about FL I can offer advice on. I will mention one other thing, if you have the latest FL 8.5 beta and use multitimbral synths, you'll need to download the updated wrapper from http://forum.image-line.com/viewtopic.php?t=32855& (2nd page) to get them working correctly.

Yeah, no doubt they're still around in spirit, just keeping an eye on things down here

The others are doing fine thanks

tho' my latest adoptee, Ginger Tom, has started calling less frequently. I'm hoping he's gone back to his real home and I'd like to think he just calls here to let me know he's ok and to thank me for giving him food and shelter when he needed it.

though this is an ancient post, but i have to say, the problem still happened to me in FL12, and i solve this with the same way.

it works like a charm.

P.S i started to have this problem after updating Media Player classic codec.

FL Studio isn't playing 75% of its instruments wav.s.
