As many of you know by now, Zebra did not win the coveted and highly anticipated Musikmesse 2009 Software Instruments award. Although Urs remains calm in the face of this miscarriage of technological award justice, I feel it is important for the rest of us to find an outlet for the inevitable rage that cries out for expression. I therefore propose that we redirect this energy by making Zebra patches as follows:

1) In order to qualify, the patch must use ALL the available modules at the same time, including everything available in the effects grid. Modules may be moved around and reconnected as needed, but not deleted.

2) Although setting every parameter to it's absolute maximum or minimum value is encouraged, it is more important to express the rage, shall we say, somewhat artistically. So, tweak away.

3) Maximizing the number of convoluted modulations to the point of incomprehensible chaos is encouraged.

4) CPU optimzations are discouraged, and any patches that cannot be rendered will be archived in a patch time-capsule until such time that CPU power equals the rage levels that Zebra and it's fanatical sore losers like myself are capable of demanding.

5) A template has been provided (Note: as an expression of injustice, I initialed this patch with "BS" rather than my more polite initialization form "WS"):

BS Zebra Rage - initialize

which ironically makes a rather musical tone, the likes of which is forbidden. Please change this. Definable pitch is acceptable only if it doesn't stay in one place for too long.

6) Anyone who disqualifies themselves by disobeying the rules is automatically reinstated by nature of the rude and offensive nature of the disqualification itself, which is in keeping with the primary goal of the expression of rage. We do not want to hinder the rage, but rather to guide and gently control it.

Special kudos to bmrzycki for inspiring this challenge.

You need to explore every bit of this patch, especially the X/Y assignments :hihi:

Excellent use of untraceable spaghetti wiring -- this is what true modular synthesis was meant to be. And your FMOs knob color spectrum is beautiful enough to be desktop wallpaper. I can definitely feel the anger and despair of the post-Musikmesse sore-loser existential crisis that we all share as I listen to this patch with the volume level set cautiously low.

This challenge has already exceeded my expectations, and I hang my head in shame at not having contributed yet. But I have more time than money (tomorrow that is) so we will see...

Finally my self-worth has returned with this my first contribution:

Adjust XY1 to taste per your own emotional trauma levels at having lost the award.

I too regret not having used all the modules to their full chaotic potential, but it was just a quick go. In particular, Ring3 in the effects section gave me some trouble. Should I see something in the right hand side for adjustments when I click it? I apologize if this bug hunting seems inappropriately useful during this reflective time of pointless noise making.

Ringmodulators don't need knobs or anything. They just be

That patch was 100% Zebra, one instance, no effects. Since i was messing around, i didn't bother saving the patch because i allready made a dedicated "chatterbox" patch before:

Since this doesn't qualify for the contest, sorry for the O/T.

Howard, i can't hear your patch, am i doing something wrong?
