How is the new Live 8 update for everyone?

It's been stable and I love some of the functions and new effects, but I'm starting to notice latency when running live audio into a track that I didn't notice before. It's a bit distressing. I thought it was Guitar Rig 3, but it's clearly not. I wish I would have screwed with it more before I upgraded. Now I'm starting to wonder if I made the right choice.

I know they will fix a lot of this in future updates?..
So is the newest version of live 7 pretty solid?

One thing I cannot deal with is any sort of "Extra" latency (issues/bugs)
with recorded guitar tracks and such......

mixed bag: less stable than 7, changing presets in some synths leads to cpu-peaks, sometimes a weak response with drag and drop to empty spaces.
I love groupies, collision, the renewed Operator and the vocoder and some workflow enhancements.

What would a good (cheap) price be on live 7 in the market place?

I had a bunch of problems (8.0.1), including ridiculously frequent crashes ("A serious problem has ocurred - Live will shut after closing this window") and C++ problem messages that I had never experienced in any previous Live version (been with Live since v5).
I didn't really have time to try the enhancements (many of which I was really looking forward to), as I returned the upgrade almost immediately. Ableton was awesome in that regard, though -- immediate response to my e-mails, immediate return of my payment, no questions asked.

Def less stable imo. I've had 8.0.2 "poof" on me a number of times thus far while playing nanopad+reaktor. It has some nice enhancements tho. Kinda in limbo on how I feel at the mo.

Yeah, makes sense. I suppose it's easier to issue a refund than to find and correct bugs, leave alone launching v.8.0.3, no?thecontrolcentre wrote:I emailed them 3 days ago about my problems with 8.02 ... no reply yet. I'm still hesitating : i find the upgrade price very expensive.
And i already found that Live7 was using more cpu, and Live8 seems renowned to use even more cpu.
At the moment, i'm sticking with L7.

Live 8 has been OK for me, although I haven't had massive amounts of use out of it yet. The one problem I have had is Sampletank 2 LE not being recognised wherea's it is recognised fine within v7.0.14. I emailed Live's support and to their credit they responded within a couple of days. I haven't had chance to try the possible fixes that they recommended though.
