I've stumbled across an issue related to absolute paths in Cantabile session lists... pardon "set-lists"...

As long as you use only your boot drive c: and the personal folder to store sessions and setlists all is no issue, but...

Scenario:

Imagine you want to store your sessions and setlists on a memory stick... when you create things on your stationary PC at your desk and want to port it to your laptop...

Each time you plug in removable storage media it will be assigned to a different drive letter...

When you want to access stuff via a network there seems to be even more trouble because there is no drive letter at all any more...

Are there any suggestions to overcome this?

I remember Brad was mentioning something about network paths too and I'm slowly understanding what he is about...

There's two things that might help out here.

1. Set lists save the path to session files in both relative and absolute format. If you move a set list and it's related session files together, the set list should still be able to locate the session files.

2. In the set list options page there's a search path that can be used to specify additional folders to search for sessions that can't be located by the above method.

What else can it be relative to? To the personal (My Cantabile Files) folder?

That's right - either. As long as there's a relative path between the session file(s) and the set list file it should work. Session files can even be in a parent folder of the set list - it should still work. Have a look at a set list file in a text editor to see this in more detail.
