i'm hesitant to post another sampletank question here since the last one i posted got no responses... but what the hell, eternal optimist, that's me.
anyway, please excuse my ignorance etc but i am a n00b with this stuff... be nice.
i guess i should start with - i'm running ST 2.5 on a Macbook Pro 10.4.11...
and so here's the question: i want to know if its possible to map sections of my midi keyboard to different ST instruments... i understand that you can turn on the "zone" feature for each instrument and thereby control various parameters on a zone by zone basis... but are the zones themselves editable? can they be changed? which leads me back to my original question - can the zones be mapped to a section of the keyboard so that i could play - for example - Acoustic Grand Piano 1 on notes C1-C2 but Tenor Sax 1 on notes C2-C3?
i mean there are 16 instrument parts available, so i could build up different orchestral sections on different octaves etc...
i think this is possible in samplers like Kontakt but i'm not sure... sorry if i'm not being clear but it's late and i don't know the proper terminology.
anyway if you think you understand what it is i'm asking - or if you need clarification - let me know cause i'd love to know the answer to this!
cheers,
bvb

I dont have ST (only LE) but do have Sonik Synth (same engine afaik) and you can use the range control to select a keyboard range for each instrument. It's not quite the same thing as remapping (you cant move samples to different keys etc..) but you can do a keyboard split easily.Load the two instruments on the same midi channel,on the fist push the range button and select the lowest and highest keys.Do the same for the next instrument.
