The world famous and respected sample developer, Hollow Sun, have revamped their site, but most importantly, their product offering.

http://www.hollowsun.com/

Most importantly, they are now, for the first time, available for immediate download!

Their libraries now come in a variety of formats including Akai S5/6000, Z Series, MPC4000 and the latest MPC5000 v2. There are also libraries for the Alesis Fusion too. And for the first time these libraries are available in Kontakt 3 format!

To use their words...

HOLLOW SUN now supports the popular NI Kontakt 3 format which takes these award winning sounds to new heights. Each sound has been meticulously converted to K3 format and hand crafted to take advantage of K3's superb facilities.

Most libraries can be bought complete for $50, which is a bargain in itself, but they can now be bought in smaller chunks too. So, for example, you want the critically acclaimed Yamaha CP70 set, but not the other EP's within that library (Wurlitzer EP200, Hohner Pianet or Classic EP), you can just download the CP70 for $25! Or you can have the Classic EP for $10, or the Wurli for $15. They'll even let you have the RMI Electrapiano for free!

And yes, you read right. All of these libraries are available for immediate download! Pay your money and have those samples straight away. If you don't have a suitable connection to download these, they will still provide them as CD's on request.

There's even a freebies section so you can sample their products and understand the quality you will get with these libraries.

Enjoy!

Sorry but I iz not. From my FAQ...

Q. Those Fusion freebies look tasty. Wil you be making them available in other formats?
A. No! Hollow Sun worked closely with Alesis on developing library exclusively for Fusion to support the Fusion community and those sounds are in a proprietary format that cannot be used (or converted to use) with any other sampler.

I am under contractual agreement to keep those sounds exclusive to Fusion users.

That said, some will slip through that aren't subject to contractual arrangements but there won't be widespread conversion of these sounds to other formats. Sorry!

Cheers,

Steve

Thanks.

Yeah - it was (and still is) great to work with Alesis. They're good people.

Fusion was (and still is!) a great instrument to work on ... and I've been working closely with them (and the 'new' Akai) on other products ... which is ongoing.

But it's also good to branch out into Kontakt territory, a format I am liking a lot and which is taking my sounds to a new level IMO.

Cheers,

Steve

Just to say that I have converted my PPG collection over to Kontakt which is now AVAILABLE HERE.

This is not a sanitised digital facsimile but my old PPG Wave 2.2 sampled raw ... warts and all!

Cheers

Steve, it's great to see you back in action again, but what happened to all the massive free sample packs you had up years and years ago. I still have them, and I'm hoping they're still legally useable. I've been using your 909 and 808 samples for ages!

Those freebies were withdrawn a long time ago. I was getting 30,000 downloads a month and I simply couldn't afford to keep it running (not to mention the overhead of the many emails I received that A) gave me a bollocking for not offering XYZ synth/keyboard/whatever and/or B) people demanding I provide XYZ synth/keyboard/whatever to order ... and when can they expect to see it available  )

You are quite free to use and enjoy the stuff you got at that time in perpetuity - just please don't re-distribute it.

Cheers,

Steve

Sorry Steve, but I have to join the love fest going on here.

Hollow Sun = ':harp:'

New small packs = great!!

Thanks for all of the hard work you've put in over the years, much appreciated here.

Steve,

Thanks for replying, sorry to hear about that "feedback" - how tremendously ungreatful!

I have backed up the collection a few times, to hard disks and optical media, but haven't ever passed them on, and I will honour your wish not to redistribute.

However, have you considered offering some of them again as small pay-for downloads? If anything to cover bandwidth? You had some really nice little piano, strings and mellotron sets. :)

PPG for K3!!! Thank you sir! Exactly what i been waiting for!!

The PPG collection is definitely nice. I bought the Akai version quite a while back and imported it into K3. Even though I also ended up picking up a Microwave 1 eventually, I still use the Ultimate PPG samples here and there because it's so convenient having several PPG sounds already mapped out in Kontakt where they can be further shaped with K3's various modules.
