it's looks decent for the iphone. but i think sunvox is better for me cause you can use your own samples.

but this app seems to have a lot of potential! i'll buy it if they continue to update it

Maybe you're right, but sunvox looks so ugly !!!
Sorry we have 2009, it looks like 1983

I've buyed Xewton (What a name !) for capturing some ideas on the road.
There's some fetaures coming.

I read whats coming:
Midi import export
sampling
more instruments
filterfx

Xewton feels like a reel sequencer to me.

I'm sure plenty of good apps will appear (and have appeared already, like Sunvox) but they will all highlight one big problem: it's a bloody pain in the arse to use any UI on a screen like the iPhone.

I've got Sunvox on my iPhone and it's a pain to use. It's not Sunvox' problem (even though some UI changes could make it a touch less painful) it's just the small screen. You have to be a sado-masochist to want to make music that way.

yeah i agree, and i'm a big a fan of iphone music apps. the touchscreen is really good for playing with bebot or experimenting with sounds on some of the other synths and fx (star6, curtis).... but if you're trying to make a few song it can be pretty annoying

i think pianostudio is pretty good for making song ideas though

be sure to try out my app, bleep!BOX. I think you'll find it's very well suited to the iPhone, yet powerful too.

I paid $10 for JR Hexatone and regrest it. I find the support has been terrible and for paying a premium price- there is no excuse. I am now shy of paying for any music apps until I see some history of support now. I will check out the ones mentioned but am curious to see how support is- will they continually do fixes or updates- or just leave it after 1 update with bugs (like JR Hexatone). Too bad- Jordan Rudess has his name all over this- bad move. And for anyone that has the latest 1.1- try playing a scene and holding down the middle to generate random cells- it will crash everytime.

same here, I'm really reluctant to pay for an ap that I can't actually test before buying. maybe if many other people are raving about it I may buy blindly, but that doesn't happen often.

like beepbox.. I watched the video but I don't know how the controls will respond on my iPhone. Can you sequence patterns? does it crash randomly like most other audio apps I've tried? I have no idea

so no sale I'm afraid

i believe there is a free version of bleep!box coming out soon that just doesn't save. i bought it already and it works fine on my phone.

hmm what apps do i have.. bebot: works perfect, fire: field recorder, records long lectures decently, dopplerpad: works great, has a few issues with tempo and syncing but i think those were worked out in the new update, jasuto: cheap but really cool- it cuts out a lot cause it's modular and the more you add the more cpu you use.. but i hear the update might fix that, sunvox: i've only played things i made on my computer and everything seems to run fine, star6: works great for me, curtis: works, pretty cool, nlog synth: works fine, update looks like it'll make it much better, noise.io: works great, it has crashed on me while creating synths but it always back up when i go back in- never during performances though, pianostudio: works great! sound warp: works great, star piano and guitar: work great, technobox: works great, megasynth: works great

but yeah i agree, apple needs to figure out some kind of demo system. i bought some non-music apps that ended up not working out for me and i have no way to get my money back

I agree about forking out money without being able to try it. Especially a concern on the iPhone since apple doesn't give refunds on apps..

As rocket34bg said there is a demo version of bleep!BOX coming. I finished it up this weekend and submitted it for approval. Should be out in a couple weeks.

Midi sync is something I've already started working on and it will probably be in a future update.

You will be able to sequence patterns into a song as soon as Apple approves my update - it should only be a few more days.

I can say I've used bleep!BOX for hours without crashes. That said, even if there are issues I'm committed to fixing them as fast as I can. Bleep!BOx is written almost 100% in C++, not ObjectiveC like other apps and I find it to be more stable because of that. ObjectiveC can be very difficult to debug and I see apps that crash all the time.

ahhhh that would be crazy

it would also be cool if there was a way to sync up two bleep!boxes over wi-fi considering i'm about to get an ipod touch. that would be really convenient for me but i doubt it would happen since not many people have multiple machines.

bleep!box + bebot will be fun though

Those song samples sound really cheesy!!
