I have found Studio Devil Virtual Guitar Amp to be very good (as is their Bass Amp) for running guitar sounds through (when necessary).
It is also reasonably priced compared to some of the bigger products out there and has very good reviews all over the place.
A good free plug-in is the MDA combo application.
(However, the best thing that I have found for treating vocals is Voxengo's Voxformer, but that is of course not an intended guitar simulation plug-in).

head over there and grab HyBrit and SoloC add a cabinet sim behind it, or use the stack version
these plugins flat out own
Only thing "better" is Revalver, if you are into paying and tweaking the amps
