Good morning,

I'd like to start a thread for collecting publicly available material which is well suited for assessing the quality of the plugins. If you have MIDI files which can reveal strengths or weaknesses of an instrument, please post a link in this thread!

For effect plugins, it would be great to have critical sound material for processing. E.g., what would you use to evaluate the quality of a compressor like , e.g., EQUINOX or for FerricTDS? And how does the output compare to other state-of-the-art implementations?

Having some experience with reverb algorithms, I'd like to start with some audio material for reverb plugins. The human voice and how it sounds in different environments is something we are very well familiar with. This makes it an excellent choice as test material for a reverb plugin like HybridReverb2 (and whiteLABEL TEV, of cause). Here are some publicly available vocal studio recordings:

Process it and compare it to the output of your Lexicon, TC Electronic, Bricasti, Quantec or any other reverb effect which you use in your studio!

Ciao,
Christian
