Does anyone have any ideas how to achieve a sound similar to the chords in I Remember (deadmau5 & Kaskade) - link to track below for those not familiar with it.
The sound has a beautiful soft quality that i have not been able to achieve
Thanks

I'll greet you at the door with a smile, but I'll have to sympathetically inform you...not in those shoes mate.
Please use the search...we've covered Deadmau5 on here to the point of frustration.

I have used the search and am not aware that this question in relation to this specific sound has been answered - maybe i have missed it?.
This being the case, i feel entitled to raise the question.

You could try to cut the high frequencies with a lowpass filter (that's what make it soft sounding)
But the most important is chord progression and I'm no expert
Just experiment!

he uses the same fuckin sound in every track how are none of those links useful? he uses a nord lead 3, 2 saw's slightly detuned, key tracking off, LP24 filter with a no resonance and automation on the amp decy/release, filter decay/release and the cut off a bit. his chord movements are rooted in a very specific way with sus4's resolving to open roots.JFM wrote:you are so kind soul_junkie - all that trouble for moi - dont see anything specific in relation to the specific sound i referred to but thanks anyway

It's because they want to be the one's to tell you about the 'cool new artist' and then tell you you're an idiot for listening to it when that artist inevitably becomes popular.JFM wrote:why are people so angry here - sorry i asked

it has nothing to do with likes or dislikes of a track/artist, he was very clearly answered and in fact we've answered this 100 times before, it's just rude after a while.tehlord wrote:It's because they want to be the one's to tell you about the 'cool new artist' and then tell you you're an idiot for listening to it when that artist inevitably becomes popular.JFM wrote:why are people so angry here - sorry i asked

Almost every question here has been asked probably more than 100 times before.
Deadmau5 questions are the most likely to cause clicky, gang mentality pointing and laughing though. Why? Becuase of exactly the reason you quoted me on.
It has fack all to do with being rude, and the OP pointed out that he hadn't found an answer to his specific question.

Provided that this is the winning set up
, can't we just agree that someone pastes this when asked for the deadmau5 sound in a thread, it could be a lot friendlier place with just a little effort, posting 10 links is a lot more effort.he uses a nord lead 3, 2 saw's slightly detuned, key tracking off, LP24 filter with a no resonance and automation on the amp decy/release, filter decay/release and the cut off a bit. his chord movements are rooted in a very specific way with sus4's resolving to open roots.

Why can't anyone just answer the question? It sounds like one of the bigger Oberheims to me. Could be Moog as well.
