Just cause you get the boot doesn't mean you are out of the loop. You can still get votes. The boot basically states that a certain contest rule was broken and should be considered when/if voting for the track. No biggie. I got the boot before and still got a few votes but that's cause I'm really cool and KVRists totally dig me and my hairy balls.

Unfortunately, hairy balls I ain't got. Being mostly American Indian, I'm body hair challenged. Head hair? Plenty with zero recession thanks.

I broke rules.. I'll try to do better next time.

I like this, reminds me of Chrome a bit, strange rhythms work well with metal guitars and screamies. Fun stuff. Congrats on getting actually pissed-off in the contest.

tomg, this is a mighty fine piece of music !

It's astonishing how you're able to make a very enjoyable song out of such a heap of ugly sounds !!!

You did only one thing wrong : pull it out of the contest !
IOW : a mostly American Indian rather stays a put the volume at 11 !

Booted or not, looking here tells me you can count already on a few convinced voters !

Hi tomg,

As someone who but heads with the mighty Scoops about contest rules regarding song length before (I argued that the length should be 3 minutes back in 2007 when the limit was 2 minutes) I can sympathize with you.

Ironically my entry this month only comes to a whopping 2:10 mainly because I did everything I needed to do in the song in the context of the contest. It even has a little intro, verse, chorus bridge, outro and end.

The purpose of the KvR contests is not to make the best radio friendly Top 100 pop song but to make the best song that fits within the rules and theme of the contest.

I take issue with one thing you kept repeating in the contest gossip thread regarding great pop(ular) songs all being over 3 minutes:

Here are just a few examples of a lot of great popular songs from different genres all clocking in under 3:00

Even if it's just a few seconds. I almost always break 3:00. But yeah, from the looks of it I really need to dump the idea that songs should get what they need and only write less than 3:00 songs from now on.

Time limits on songs is a bad joke. If you don't want to listen to the whole thing then it's too long and that's a valid criticism.
