I recently found that the structure of Synthmaster 2.0 is quite similar to Sylenth1: 2 Layers. 2 OSCs per layer, hypersaw via additive OSCs. Synthmaster 2.0 is currently available for 59$.debby wrote:I found Sytrus nearly same with Sylenth1.. really..

Besides the "basic" features from Sylenth1 Synthmaster 2.0 has more features/synthesis methods.
But if you really want the sound of Sylenth1 why not using the "real" Sylenth1 ???

I know what you mean about "light feeling". Sylenth is still one of my favorites, but I do feel that it lacks some body for proper mid bass. It can do the low sub bass fine, but not the mid punchy stuff.
FF Twin has the same problem, as well as a lot of other soft synths, but overall I like Sylenth a lot better. Sytrus is a different kind of synth because it does FM not subtractive like Sylenth. FM is generally good for punchy bass, but then again I personally like the sound of subtractive synths better.

If you have money, you can get Waldorf Largo and don't bother about other synths anymore. Huge amount of waveforms are there(strings also). Sound is topnotch in digital and analog domain. It has 3 oscillators in each layer(in total fife or six). Amazing comb filter as well. It's really snappy sounding synth.debby wrote:Thank you.. But Don't need (?) And to reader.. This is *just* reference I received
/Our product SynthMaster is indeed more powerful than Sylenth, and it has wavetable synthesis just as Largo as well, with 450 wavetables + 580 ready to use presets. If you compare the price/performance ratio, SynthMaster beats both Sylenth & Largo... /
I have to sleep.. Thanks all

for modern strings there are lots of ways to go. i tend to use either blue, zebra, or alchemy, depending on what i'm after. for 'real' strings, though, i use gpo4.
happy hunting!

SynthMaster sure beats Largo in price, but Largo has more BITE in sound. Check both demos.debby wrote:And to reader.. This is *just* reference I received

I do concur! SM2.0 which has a spade load more features (wavetable synthesis + comb filters...SM2.0 has that covered), and costs 1/3rd the price (even less actually!debby wrote:And to reader.. This is *just* reference I received

On paper it doesn't really mean much tbh... try the demo, and see what you think: http://www.kv331audio.com/synthmaster.aspx
Sounds every bit as aggressive as the famous "Waldorf sound" and everything in between, and is really well supported by the dev. (and to my delight, NO DONGLE!)
This, was to me, the pinnacle of the 2009 release calendar, as it's so all-encompassing, you just can't go wrong. (..and doesn't cost the world and a USB port!)

PS: don't get me wrong, I do own quite a few expensive synths, and this thing puts many of them to shame ... at my despair... after having already spent hundreds of Euros/Dollars on the other synths

Sylenth vs Largo vs Synthmaster2?
I know the winner
The sylenth and Synthmaster to i have, the largo not - but his big brother, the blofeld, which has definitv more and better features(ppg filter) and a better sound as the largo(dsp-code sounds everytime a tick better than pure vst-softare). so i can really make a good comparision between all this 3 synths(espacially as sounddesigner).
Sylenth
For dance & trance a must have(primary because layerng combined with the heavy unisio-power - which work on an another way as usually). The filter are the best at the sylenth, smooth and warm. Much effects, all in all a good synth and easy to use, but not the best.
+sound/unisio-mode
+filters
+double-layer stucture
+effect-section
-no wavetables
-no "direct" pwm
-price
-the support is not a really a support
Largo
To the quality we must say many words, waldorf is a sign for quality. Yes the sounds good, he has much features. But at the end, a standart 3 osc VA-synth. No real innovation inside. Whats not good in my eyes, that waldorf don't made it, to implement the microQ-import function(how announced before the release) for the largo(and blofeld).
+filters
+sound
+wavetables
-no innovation
-no ppg-filter @ the largo
-price
-syncrosoft
Synthmaster2
In comparison to the 2 others a exotic synth, i would say. This is a synth, which is defintiv focused on - to do everything what the user want. VA-Osc, Additive-Osc, Wavetable-Osc(which is a really weapon with 16 waveform-slots and morph-function), double-layer structure like sylenth. Modulators(as insider-tip - they can bring you a unique soundcreation as without, for example used on basic VA-osc). And modulation-possibilies like a massive. I see there only a few little flews - versus a mass on good features.
+3 osc-moduls
+filters
+double-layer structure
+modulation
+unision(not many osc have unisio with works also perfect on wavetables)
+PRICE - extrem no-braining
-effect-section(must be bigger, phaser, new reverb etc)
SUMMARY:
How searchs a synth for big fat tranceleads or smoothfiltered sounds would be right with the sylenth.
How searchs a synth with a big name, and a good qualtiy, combined with good filters and legendary wavetbales takes the largo.
How search a synth, who can make all this togehter and more for a quarter of the price of the sylenth takes the synthmaster.

One thing is what the specs say... another what my ears say...Cyforce wrote:Sylenth vs Largo vs Synthmaster2?
It does not sound even closer to Sylenth nor Largo...!
