I was just playing around with the "custom triggers" -- sending patch 16.0.1 "Piano 1d" to my SC-88, patch 1 to my Yamaha XG synth, and patch change 17 to FM7. Attached it to "MIDI program change 1"...

There's even a way to attach and run an external program to these triggers, so you can imagine (if you had such a thing) that you could get one of those fluorescent displays that fit into a 5.25" bay that could change with each setup.

...no doubt I agree, there are solutions for most things you might wish to do.

However, with the program changes I'd prefer an option to choose from sound names rather than just sending numbers... specified by a file for each external HW instruments sounds.

Triggers to start external programs is indeed cool...

Cantabile is my favorite host too. Just some setup is a bit technical and/or hidden under the hood so that it needs some time you realize all you can do... but finally important, you can do it!

I just like the fact that I'm not frustrated with synths,computers and recording any more .It's fun now and I look forward to playing my keyboards through out the day..I think I may actually like it better than beer ..
And I have not picked up my guitar since right before Christmas,that says a lot right there.ttyl

The guy who developed Cantabile is from Australia, so don't let him hear you say that.

But yeah I agree -- it's great to be able to focus on the playing and not the act of getting sound out of it.
