These videos are great Kim. You're leading the way for others to do the same. I think it is extremely helpful for people to see e-Drummers using their e-Kits to control virtual instrument software such as Ocean Way Drums and Drum Masters. It shows it in action and clearly it's fun and sounds great! Do you mind if we link to your videos? We're going to get more interactive with these things in 2010.

How do you record the videos? Are you just playing along the original song or is it some sort of play-along version with no drums? I need to practice on my drums (not a real drummer, just learning) and would nees something easy to play along...

I record the video itself using imovie 09 (a Mac built-in app) along with the built in isight camera on my iMac. I record the sound through Logic Express 8.

I am just playing along to the original song. I just make sure my drumming is louder to cover over the drummer from the real song.

That's so awesome that you are learning the drums!!! You won't regret it, that's for sure!
Such a fun instrument!!

As for music to play along to, I would choose songs that have a very basic rock beat. There's a lot of basic rock beats in a lot of the music from the late 70's & 80's I think. Soft Rock type music would be good too. Just an idea anyways

Take care & enjoy & don't be too hard on yourself or expect too much from yourself too soon - just 'go with it'& have fun - that's the main thing!!

yes, I will select some basic rock songs, I can already play some basic drum rhythms on my kit, but I need to practice, to keep time better and to do some gym also (it's a demanding instrument!!!) ...and I'm getting old, my back aways hurt a little and my hands get sore quickly

I have a home-made kit made of various stuff...some old roland pads, some yamahas, some veeeeery old ddrums, and bits I have made myself with piezo. So far I have a 11-piece kit, my main problems are the kick pedal (I bought a super-cheap one, need replacement ASAP) and my hi-hat which doesn't have a very good feel..

One of these days I will make a video myself, prepare to be laughing a lot !!!

But I'll keep practicing. Waiting for the kits in the OWD GB to play some more
