Maybe try Cakewalks now free SFZ+ here:
http://www.cakewalk.com/products/Gifts- ... DL_Engaged
and google for SGM-180 soundfont which contains a lot of usable sounds.
You will also find many free plugins here in KVR, there is nothing special to work with them in Cantabile...

The Soundfonts (*.sf2 files) are separate files - like other samples. You have to download them separately.
Then you need to load these in the sfz+ plugin. Select Mode pr16 or pr32 to load a soundfont in sfz+

Okay, this is going to be a LOOOONG URL, but for free VST instruments, the KVR plug-in database has a search feature that I've pared down for you:
http://www.kvraudio.com/get.php?mode=re ... t=3&rpp=15
This is all free VST instruments, sorted by date.

SFZ+ is the name of a "Sound Font" player. Sound Fonts are samples that are ready to play and can be loaded into sound cards as well as other devices and software.jeff180 wrote:i guess i'm tryin to say i dont know what a sfz+ plugin is
Once you've got your free copy of SFZ+ (you have done this, right?), all you need are some sound fonts to load into it. Here are some pretty good sources:
http://www.soundzone.info/
http://www.sf2-files.com/freesf2.php
http://sounds.resonance.org/patches.py? ... temId=6816
And of course, Google is your friend...

Go to this page:
http://www.cakewalk.com/products/Gifts- ... DL_Engaged
Scroll down to the bottom of the page where it says "Now Free on the Cakewalk Store", the first item listed is Cakewalk SFZ+. Click, download, install...
Since Cantabile Solo is a host, I can only imagine this will show up. You may have to rescan your VSTi folder, but it should show up in the list of instruments to insert.
Let me know how it goes...
