Hi All,
This morning I've put up two new builds of Cantabile.
1. Build 2049 includes a fixes for couple of rare, but real crashes. (See http://www.cantabilesoftware.com/suppor ... notes.html for details).
2. A new experimental build that includes everything from 2049 + new audio and MIDI processing pipeline. See http://www.cantabilesoftware.com/downlo ... ental.html .
The new audio/MIDI processing cleans up some of Cantabile's code base in preparation for some other changes I'm thinking of + also adds an optional additional level of buffering that should provide better stability in exchange for a little extra latency. This new option is available in the Audio Engine settings where there's a new slider - Additional Audio Buffers. I've also added a slider that allows adjusting the asio buffer size directly - rather than using the ASIO driver's control panel.
I'm reasonably confident with these change but don't want to roll it into the official build until I'm certain it's stable. I've done a fair bit of testing with it already, but anyone who's got time, please give it a go and let me know if you encounter any problems.
Happy New Year everyone!
Brad

Happy new year too!
Going to check out the new builds asap...
[Edit:] First impression is that the new buffering strategy works quite well. I am just curious how few additional latency additional buffers add to the allover audio latency... How does this work?
