I can't believe this is the only software like this..I came to kvr looking for a good cheap stand alone vst that offers simplicity and good quality sounds.I'm totally new to vsti's and synths.Someone just recommended this cantabile lite,But I downloaded the trial to the full version instead..

Since then I have tried chainer,savihost,..Before then fl and cubase..None of these make it simple to control the instruments from my controller like this app does. Fl and cubase requires a lot more setting up and is not beginner friendly,,Although it is great for more seasoned music makers and great for editing(piano roll,midi editor,etc.)..But I don't need the learning curve with all that stuff right now,I just want to arrange my synth parts as I jam..There are no big learning curves and a bunch of other work(setting up) that messes up the flow of creative juices.With this you can capture those special moments with ease.AWESOME !So when I'm feeling it I can get started quick and keep rolling..It makes computer music fun!!
Especially with some pre made user templates

This is like having a stack of many synths and keyboards going into a mixer, and a click of a mouse you can change it to a different array of synths..all with the functionality of your controller. like I said I'm new to synths and I like Fl,and I'm sure I will get into cubase,But this software is brilliant..A monkey can start jammin in minutes,just look at me.I don't know if I'll ever use those apps again,except to record my guitars and vocals in the future

There is no need to finish reading the manual from my cme uf6 right now..it seems 95% of the control I need such as splitting layering is right there on the screen with this app..

Why does this software seem so obscure and unheard of..It deserves to be on the shelf at Guitar center with Image line Fl and steinberg products..Which is where I bought my stuff..If it was there at the time I would have purchased it then..

I have 25 days left and some issues with my pc I need to clear up first though.Plus I spent to much already.I am really excited about this and can't wait to own it,I'm blown away at my progress within 5 days of trying this out,I would be lost without it now..Great job indeed on this

Hi and welcome to the "Cantabile" club...

I just can agree to your findings... Cantabile offers some unique features nowhere else to find - finally making VST instruments much better playable than the many DAW solutions do. Especially if you get your hands on "Performer" you will really find things there nowhere else to find... like subsessions and a lot of other details making things much easier or possible at all. Of course mastering all this needs time, but it's worth. I believe there is no other live host that goes that far.

The point might be that all the PC stuff is more about recording than playing life. It's just that more and more people start trying to use VST and PC technology for that.

I also think Cantabile should be much more noticed but maybe Topten Software does not intend to feed usual marketing paths which would make the product much more expensive - with a box, manual, CD and an additional sales margin on top - not to mention that you would have to wait for the shipment while the online purchase works nearly instant... So what to do? Word of mouth is my contribution to support Cantabile and mention it everywhere as a worthy option to check out when one is looking for a VST live host!

Did you post this as testimonial to Topten Software? I guess Brad would be glad adding this to his Cantabile testimonial reference from a pro player like you are - I've seen some of your YouTube performances - WOW!

[Edit] Thanks Mistheria, you did - I simply haven't read it yet, sorry. Even more you endorse it on your website - great! I absolutely agree to your statement. I felt the same since I discovered Cantabile 1.x and saw the upcoming potential in Version 2.x. Since then I experienced how Brad listens to users and tries to vapor down the best ideas and include them in the software. Since final release in april 2009 regular free updates have made the product better and better... Since then I'm not getting tired telling people to check out Cantabile - IMHO the first VST host that seriously makes VST live playable, for demanding amateurs (like me), semi pros or pro musicians alike.
