Hi Squids and all,
I noticed that Amplitude 3 has a new rotary/leslie
sim, but not too much is said about it.

"The new AmpliTube 3 speaker cabinet module contains one of the best sounding models of a rotary speaker ever, thanks to our exclusive VRM™ technology (Volumetric Response Modeling). Never before has a software rotary speaker sounded so much like the original. Based on a pristine model of a vintage Leslie 122, the cabinet features both new and vintage original matching speakers, and is able to give to your sound that timeless magic characteristic of this must have gear."

Right now, the only decent software amp/rotary sim is(IMO) VB3, but i'd like to see one with some other amp/driver options.

I thought maybe you could, if you know more than us, give us your spin (no pun) from a keyboardist/organ perspective, on the new IK/Amp3 rotary sim since you're kinda tight with the IK boys over in Italy.

Thanks in advance!!!!

I know. I tried to tell them that this was a BIG deal and they should put it at the forefront. But, I am not sure they fully realize how much we all want a great Leslie emulation in a plug-in! Maybe it's more keyboardists perhaps but actually the amount of Leslie that was used on guitars from artists like David Gilmour, Steve Howe and others is surprisingly a lot! It's a GREAT sound for guitarists.

My impressions of it so far are that it is perhaps the best simulation so far. I have a real Leslie in our studio so I DO go to the trouble of miking it up and wheeling it around. I'd still do that (also have a Maestro Rover for those that know what that is). But it sure is convenient to have it in AT3. Also, I think you can experiment with driving it with the amps in a way that can really do some damage. My personal feeling is that AT3 is worth getting for the Leslie alone! I mean if you're already an AT2 user.

Wow, thanks for your feedback on all that!

No, I don't have AmpliTube at all, so it would be a full-on purchase for me. ($300?)

Maybe you can talk the IK boys into making a special rotator version
of AT3 with just the leslie(s) and several amp sims for a lot less $'s.

In the Keyboard world it would surely be a big deal, 'cause there just aren't a
lot of good options as far as leslie vsts go.
'Just some thoughts

Myself, as just a keyboard player, probably would not use all the Marshall stacks
and stompboxes ect.. (Off the hook great for guitar players though!!)

When the AT3 demo comes out I'll give it a proper workout.

Again, thanks a lot man!!
