Which plugins? 32 or 64 bit Windows 7? 32 or 64 bit DAW? Common solutions are to run install or DAW as administrator.

Post

maybe its a rhetorical question?

Post

I don't think it's rhetorical. From what I've seen here and elsewhere, some people have had trouble with specific plug-ins running on specific hosts. Gotta say which ones though.

You are right meffy, sometimes some people have problems getting some things to work in some situations. generally speaking of course...

Everything I have ran on my new Intel QuadCore Windows7 computer seems to run fine. I use FL Studio btw.

Using windows 7 64bit on i7. The only plugin I can't use is Z3ta+. and a free Kompakt demo Vsti that came with Ewqlso gold. Other than that no problems (using amplitube1, Tracks1, old free plugins and many commercial ones.

Which is why some specifics would help. :-} Wildfunk, what's not working for you? Knowing that will help you connect with others who have similar problems.

Running 64 bit Windows 7 Premium here, so far, the only plug in I've had trouble installing was my original Korg Legacy Collection disc. Just would not install.
Downloaded the latest (Vista) version from Korg's site and it installed without a hitch.

WildFunk might also be tempted by a switch to Win7 for a new system, so maybe he's actually more trying to get some info before he does it than ..... "Ooops too late, if only I had known that" :? :)

This said no info on Win7 here, but ...... I'm also tempted so .... I'll keep supporting all the efforts of our generous testers

I've been using Windows 7 for a few weeks and haven't yet come across any problems. I've pretty much tried everything in my studio out on it as well.

Cheers.

Right.

I've read somewhere that some old SynthEdit plugins for example don't work with W7.

Also that some installers create problems because of buggy programming.

I guess there's also a difference between the 32bit and 64bit versions.

standalone or within a host? i'm not having any issues with it. i've been using win 7 x64 almost since the official launch with no real problems with stuff i use, except pro tools.
i tried to install the plpareq 3 demo to check it out, but the installation stops, haven't bothered trying to install their free ones after that. i've read on a couple of different forums where some are having issues with hypersonic 2 (i think that's the name) but it's quite old and no real chance of an update because the devs are now air (is it air or air plugs?,) who i think work exclusively with digi
