I need a way to convert midi cc messages into smooth, full range pitch bend messages. There is no way to do this with the tools that come with cubase. Is there any plugin that can do this?

subtle bump.

I'm still searching KVR because I'm conviced something like this exists. I'm using an awesome plugin called vMinion which outputs mid cc messages but I want to use it to control pitch bend as well so I'm trying to find a plug that can input the vMinion midi cc's and output smooth... full range pitch bend.

The Cubase input transformer can do this but it's stepped and sounds pretty bad since it can only output 127 different pitch bend values.

Ok Awesome, man I love these plugins. I have them already and didn't realize you could do this with thim. So just to be sure, there is a way to use midi converter3 to convert simple 7-bit cc messages to full range 16384 pitch bend messages? I'm trying to test it out now.

that's what it's supposed to do... i'm not sure how well it actually works in practice. set the output type to pitch bend, then set Out Param 1 to "Smooth" and increase the inertia with Out Param 2.

You can create a Studio Units SU effect or SU synth patch to convert any 7 bit midi cc into a 14 bit cc pair or pitch/pressure:

1. add two SU thru plugins to your patch
2. drag a red midi lead between them
3. right click the red midi lead
4. type $pitch@1=$2 into the blackboard (assigns controller 2 to pitch bend on channel 1)
5. right-click and promote the midi in of the first SU thru
6. right-click and promote the midi out of the second SU thru.

thx! i tried a lot but this vst collection looks great to handle.

how to set and which piz midi vst i have to use for this fall:

cc is converted to pitchbend via converter3

when i stop using the midi controller slider the pitchbend is still in the position as i left. but it has to jump back to zero point. also when i use the slider again which is not in the middle position it also has to start from the zero point.

any helpful ideas how to set it up would be really helpful.

thanks in advance!

I think there is a misunderstanding. Pitchbend wheels center mechanically to the middle position and send cc value 64 there. If you want to use a slider: this won't work as intended.

The only way you can make it work like you want is to put 2 rubber bands on the physical slider...

thx for the respond!

i do not really use a physical slider. i have some laserbeams and i wrote a software which send 3 octaves midi notes, and i can also use pitchbend or cc on beams (midi channels). i decided to send cc via my lasersoftware to a daw or through a midi translator to get a clean pitchbend back. what i want to do is simulating a physical wheel which means that i have a kind of virtual pitchbend slider on each beam. so my note off signal have to turn the wheel on zero position an note on also.

i tried it with several other converter also with bome but i couldnt figure out the short way of dealing data so it takes a lot more cpu as it could be.

i think i try to start this process with max msp. or does anyone have other helpful ideas...that would be great!

You can quickly write a Jesusonic plugin in REAPER if you just want it to send pitch zero (or cc 64) at every note off message.

I downloaded that package but there's no midiConverter3 in the archive.
Edit: never mind, apparently it's a problem with the download on the Google Code page. Got it from the barely noticeable Downloads section on the right, now.
