Hi would like to introduce Sir Elliot's Altered Dynamics Compressor. :)

Image

Here are the features:

Pre-Equalisation

Variable sweep frequencies ranging from 60 - 12,000 kHz

Treble: (Variable user control) 3000 - 12,000 kHz

Midrange: (Variable user control) 101 - 2999 kHz

Bass: (Variable user control) 60 - 100 Hz

Gain: +/- 10 dB Treble

Gain: +/- 10 dB Midrange

Gain: +/- 12 dB Bass

Post-Compression

Attack: (Variable user control) 2 milliseconds to 200 milliseconds

Release: (Variable user control) 100 milliseconds to 5 seconds

Ratio: (Variable user control) 2:1 to 20.0:1

Threshold: (Variable user control) 0 to - 30 dB

The Loudness contour can bring forth up to + 20 dB if need be and, there is a pre-equaliser bypass switch to compare the compressed signal with and without an equaliser.

I did not alter the frequency response as I did with the Poor man's Compressor.

Here is a video demonstration on what you can accomplish using it as a drum compressor.

If you would like use it for your own material you can download it using the link listed below

Here is a video preview of the matching equaliser, which will be available in April.

Cheers. :)

Thank you kind Sir :)

I like it, the knobs are pretty stiff, you set the sensitivity pretty low in Synthmaker on those, I like to work faster.

Why is it the "snob" series? Are you angry now?

I like the eq before comp, you can really smash stuff! I did similar stuff w/my compressors, I used band pass filters before the comp processing.

This would be good w/sidechain functioning. Some example presets would be time-saving.

As far as automation, the knobs are still labeled "knob" and there's like 30 of them lol.

First and foremost, I would like to thank everyone for trying the Altered Dynamics Compressor. :)

RunBeerRun,

The tension is based on the accuracy needed in order to dial in the correct value.

For example, if one wanted 75 Hz, they will get 75 hertz within in the first try, not 74 or 76 Hz.

In the video shown it may appear the knobs are very stiff however, it was the limited space (having roughly 1-inch of leeway) to move the mouse between my keyboard and mixing board. 8)

To my eyes, the face reminds me of an old 1980's audio device you would find in someone's home sitting on a glass table with large exotic cables attached in the rear. This is where The Snob concept stems from. :)

The Compressor settings mimic the Avalon VT 737 SP. As for the Equaliser, its limited 60 - 12 kHz settings are based from an old valve mono receiver's bass & treble tone control I own which stems from 1955. This is the reason I used "kcps" and not "kHz." :)

Cheers!

Yeah mate! :D

Thinking outside the box can go a long way. :)

As you can see, I am still "wet behind the ears" in plug-in designs for Automation never crossed my mind. :hihi:

This is why I appreciate feedback. Whether good or bad. :)

Thank you for bringing it to my attention.
