interesting to know if one can mix wavecycles and combine them into
new upper and lower waves on v3 like i do on my real ppgsystem, of course it still lacks real analog ssm filters wich gave the unique clash between both digital and analog on the real 2.3 , the original waldorf ppg 2.0 software couldnt convince me at all , the real ppg is just so alive and can really cut into any mix , i've yet to hear a software one that can do this

wave 2.3 , prkfd , evu and waveterm a with modified diskdrives

Hell yeah! I've heard WaveTerm there!

And the upgrade path: NONE!

You have to buy it "new" rather than upgrade from the old Steinberg Edition. Boo-yaa!

I can't believe it's true but the video is real !! :wheee:

I'll be saving some money for this. No demo needed.

You didn't really thought it would be any different, don't you?

BTW, the youtube video is so funny. "More aliasing costs more CPU power." Now that's cool. :hihi:

Based on the video the new version seems to include an emulation of the Waveterm B too. This could playback samples like in the original machine. FX are included too now.

In the video Wolfram seems to be very exited himself. AFAIK the old version was one of his favorite synths.

war das einer dieser beiden Spinner, die daneben standen und ab und zu blödes Zeug geredet haben?

Correct on all points!

Wofram Franke really seems like a genuinely nice guy and he surely knows his stuff. :-D

My German is rusty so I couldn't follow the whole video without re-watching significant portions, but I'm more than excited. The PPG Wave 2V was one of my first softsynths and is still a favorite today. It's one of those early softsynths that has aged well because it sounds exactly like it's supposed to - warm and analogish one moment, cold and digitalish the next. I don't mind if there's no upgrade path because it seems like it's been almost a decade since I bought the first one - I'm fine with paying for a "new" synth. Now if they would show a little love to Attack next. I would love to see expanded drum synthesis options in that (and maybe a simple x0x-style sequencer 8)).
