Hello guys,

I have a question. I have Behringer UMX61.I downloaded the demo to try the software out. However, i noticed that there's something weird about my keyboard range when I play from the UMX61. For example my C3 would be recognized by Cantabile as C4. I thought its my UMX but even if i reset it the problem stays the same. I double checked and used other VSTsi n standalone as well as in Live and the problem does not occur.

Hope you can help guys :) thank you

...I think this is simply a matter of definition. As far as I know there is no definition that middle c has to be C3, C4 or anything else...

Is there any issue with the plugin's pitch? I.e. different octave sounding?

You still can use either a midi routing in the midi routing table with a transpose setting or you can transpose the related plugins in each rack.

Agreed. I have programs which variously put Middle C at C3, C4, and C5. The C5 would be the sanest musical choice, since Middle C is always MIDI note #60 -- start of the 5th Octave.

Smaller numbers don't work out properly on large keyboards; the lowest octave numbers go below 1 and start to get silly. I think many software customs were invented by synth-playing programmers unaccustomed to 88-key boards.

Sometimes programs provide a setting to change the designation of Middle C. Even if so, it may be easiest simply to accept the program's definition long enough to read the screen. The MIDI note number actually controls what's played, and that does not change, even if the program does not show it to you.
