Cantabile x64 and Asio4All?

Hi folks.

Just tried to check out Cantabile 2055 x64 but got a crash when trying to use Asio4All as audio driver.

Is this normal - i.e. Asio4All not 64bit compatible?

DirectX worked - also with higher latency, 512 samples was the "best" I could set up here...

This should work and does work fine here. Could this be something weird about your setup? eg: an unusual buffer size, no input channels perhaps, anything else significant about your session. Failing all that, send me a crash dump and I'll check it out.

...it seems to work now.

However the situation was that the ASIO driver of a non present audio interface was preselected and switching directly to Asio4All crashed. Then I selected a DirectX driver first, then Asio4All, this worked.

It's a bit weird. :-o

OK, so do you think this is a Cantabile or ASIO4ALL issue?

Post

I don't really know as I can't reproduce it any more... but I think it had probably to do with virgin initialization of audio drivers / master bus assignments after a fresh Cantabile x64 installation.

...just another idea.

I installed jbridge demo a while ago when I started to check out Cantabile x64. Maybe it's related to that? Probably some oddities I experienced in x86 may be based on this too?

What happens if you run the Alt Config, does the same problem occur?

This worked from scratch - never used x64 alt config so it might be in a pretty virgin state...
