RMV and Novation Remote / Automap

Hi there,
I'm having a couple of problems using my new Remote 25 SL with RMV (version 5.0.2) and Automap (latest version). My host is Tracktion 3 (v3.0.4.6., which has full Automap support).

1) The Remote SL has 8 drumpads - mine don't seem to work with RMV. I can see in Tracktion that Midi data is going in when I tap the pads, and it even records the notes. However, I cannot "play" the drumpads and hear anything. If I use the Remote's keyboard, it works fine, I hear the notes (Tracktion's "End to end" function is on). This is not a problem with note numbers, because if I set the keyboard to trigger the same notes as the drumpads, the keyboard works but the pads don't. If I use use another VSTi, the pads work fine - they even work fine with RMIV!!!

2) I cannot get RMV to work in Automap. I have ticked the RMV boxes in the Automap plugin manager, so it should work. I am offered an Automap version of RMV, same as with other VSTis (you are offered Automap version AND normal version). However, when I choose the Automap version, I get an error message saying "Error - this VST plug in wasn't found in the plug-in search path". But this VST is in the same folder as all my other VSTis, but they don't produce the same message, and work without problems.

Any thoughts on what's going on here? Any input would be great, ta.

Solved the problem with the Drumpads; turns out it WAS a MIDI channel problem :oops:

Still no luck with getting Automap to work though......

I dont know much about auto-map, however, i wonder what you want to achieve, Scooner ? I mean, with thousands of parameters, how could any default (=auto) mapping help you ? The Auto-map learn seems similar to our ECS learn, so if auto map doesnt do, just use our ECS with any controller setup on the SL25.

Hi Scooner,

Do you have any other DAW that you could try to see if the Automap wrapped RMV plugin works in there?

Did you select the "add Automap UI" feature in the plugin manager in Automap? This can cause problems with some plugins. If you did, try it without to see if this helps.

Is the original plugin still in the VST folder?
