Of the three examples you've posted I've tried to replicate the first one, they are all a bit different.

This is the sound I've got:

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2270492/Romania ... ck%202.mp3

It's a single saw wave, which is run through a 24 db/Oct (4 pole) low pass filter. The filter envelope has zero attack, zero sustain and a very fast decay. Then you'll have to tweak the filter cutoff and the envelope amount to get the filter sounding right. There is also some resonance, about 0.3 in my example, but it will differ from filter to filter. The amp envelope has zero attack, zero sustain and also a fast decay, though slightly longer than the filter envelope.

The key thing to all these sound is compression I think. All sounds sound quite heavily compressed, with a compressor with a really fast attack. The release is a a bit slower, you can use the ratio and threshold knobs to determine the amount of the compression. I've used Fabfilters Pro-C which on the 'Clean' mode had an attack that would do the trick, but I'm sure there are other compressors that would do just as well (It's just that I'm used to using Pro-C).

Then a bit of delay and reverb and that's it.

Good luck tweaking!

Maybe you should start with some synthesis tutorials... There are plenty on youtube
or just start with twin's presets, fiddle with knobs, and see what knobs do what rather then copying other peoples sounds
then you will learn how to create tons of sounds, and maybe even your own!
I run a netlabel http://oligopolistrecords.bandcamp.com
Free chill, hip-hop, lo-fi, ambient, experimental, for you! (Send me demos too!)

Thank you SOO MUCH!! i literally just registered to KVR audio just to thank you
i followed everything you did and with a bit of tweaking and experimenting i not only got the sound i wanted
but i also learned more about my software
I used Native Instruments Massive with Logic Pro to create this sound! and i couldn't be happier!
this site looks like it could be useful in the future if i encounter any more obstacles
thanks again! :)

Nice job, ThomasKoot, with sound and description!

It's not appropriate to the particular kind of music the original poster is after, but I like a similar kind of pluck with a quarter-duty pulse and less aggressive filtering. It sounds more "wooden"- FabFilter should be able to do some really nice versions.
