Synth bass sound in "Take My Breath Away" from movie Top Gun

To use in a couple of my own compositions, I would love to recreate the synth bass sound featured on the song "Take My Breath Away" (the famous love theme from the movie Top Gun!)
From my Google research, it seems that Berlin (the band that plays the song) could possibly have used a DX7 synth to create that sound. I myself own Omnisphere and FM8 VST instruments, maybe you do know of a patch in these VST synths that would sound close to the sound I'm searching for.
Or maybe can you give me pointers, hints, anything you know about that haunting bass sound - what synth was effectively used by the band for this song, was it a preset sound from the synth or a "tweaked" sound, what effects was applied to the sound, etc!
Waiting for your input.
Thanks!

Here is a reply from the duplicate thread in Instruments, which I've deleted so there won't be two discussions of the same thing. Please post a given topic just once, in the appropriate forum (in this case, Sound Design is right).

02] Arthur Barrow played all the keyboard parts on Take My Breath Away (as well as on the other Moroder songs). For the bassline he used a DX-7 (he thinks it was the stock DX fretless bass sound).
03] Others think it's a: Super JX or possible a MKS70

It was a tweaked version of preset 16 Bass 2 from the DX7. Heavy on the chorus and reverb and Bob's your uncle.

Thanks to all, I appreciate your quick input, it will definitely help me achieve the sound that is the current target of my Tomcat F-14...!
- I tried the following patch suggested by Mutant: "Synth1/Ann Bank 1/Preset #1 "TopGunNightShiftBass", and I admit that it sounds very close to the original TopGun love theme bass sound!
- Following the info given by Aloysius, Kriminal and jupiter8, I've downloaded a MP3 of the "preset 16 Bass 2 from the DX7", which is a fretless bass sound, and I can clearly hear the dry (untweaked) TopGun love theme bass sound that I'm searching for! So I'm gonna download this original DX7 sysex patch from the Net and import it in FM8 and then I will try to tweak it. I can already imagine how it will sound when soaked in heavy chorus and reverb...!
Thanks again,
P.S. Sorry Meffy for posting my topic in two forums, it was my first post and I wasn't sure which of the two forums was the most appropriate. I won't do it again...
