AMS RMX-16 Impulse Responses?

I can't believe that this unit hasn't been sampled more than it has Does anyone know if there's a commercial version, or at least a very well done homebrew impulse response library of the AMS RMX-16 out there? I noticed that Altiverb released one not long ago. I don't own Altiverb so I was hoping there may be a set of the normal wav IRs out there of this unit.

I might just have to buy Altiverb for this unit alone though.

We just released a massive impulse response library of Townhouse Studios AMS RMX 16. This is the very unit used on records by Peter Gabriel, Kate Bush and others. It’s 194 individual impulse responses of every algorithm. So far everyone that’s had a go says it’s bang on with the hardware.

UAD-2 is worth it for RMX-16 alone. Look into a thunderbolt UAD-2 unit and whatever included vouchers to spend during the year end sale.

The UAD emulation is not bad but it misses the input and output ad and da stages and how they colour the sound. It will recreate the algorithms but the big part of the AMS sound is how it processes the input signal through the whole signal chain.

The linked impulses above are great for a free download but my library is 194 individual impulses for a comprehensive emulation. For those that don’t run UAD this is a solid solution. Also, the onboard AMS RMX 16 eq changes the response of the decay tail dramatically beyond an eq curve. That’s why on Townhouse RMX the same decay times have been sampled at different eq settings.

Sorry, but I just don't believe the suggestion UA's RMX-16 is deficient. That plugin is one of the main justifications for the DSP platform in 2019.

Do I have access to an original, no, but I know they went in full and it has the authentic sound I'm pretty sure to fail in a blind A/B. Any remaining 3% authenticity one might theoretically be missing from a DAC stage I think could be added from a Nebula Line Amp program in series after the plugin. RMX-16 has been done so well, its one UAD plugin I'm sure will never see a mk2

As a mix engineer and producer that has mixed with a real AMS RMX 16 between many different large recording studios, to my ears, while it sounded good, it was missing something for me. I love UA as a company and I think they make some great stuff but i didn’t hear what I needed to hear for an accurate replacement.

I wouldn’t have gone and spent all this time on this library if I didn’t feel that there was a need for it. Further, culturally speaking, this library is also about preserving the cultural importance of this particular reverb: this is from Townhouse Studios and this very unit was responsible for the reverbs on many, many, important records.

Supposedly the Waves Manny Reverb is a hybrid of impulse response and algorthmic and includes his go-to classics such as Bricasti, AMS, Lex 480, and one of the EMTs. Not sure which models are which but it sounds pretty good.
