Hi everyone,

Been a while since I posted here (besides my posts in the Nucleus Soundlab forum, natch!).

Anyway... my second album "Lightfields" is now available to download!

You can check out the album and stream it in its entirety using the following link:

Here's a bit more information regarding the album:
Lightfields is the sophomore artist album of UK-based electronic musician Adam Fielding, written and recorded from 2008-2010 and released in September 2010.

Building on his debut album Distant Activity, Adam weaves a delicate balance of incredible production prowess, live instrumentation and emotional songwriting, resulting in a remarkably accessible listen while boasting a startling amount of depth. From the driven, mangled beats of The Initiation through to the off-kilter synth-rock of The Same Mistakes, listeners are treated to a consistently organic record with more than a few surprises along the way.

Lightfields strikes a creative balance between artistic development, memorable songwriting and accessibility, resulting in an album that revels in cutting-edge production and artistic expression.

...I'd love to know what you think!

Quick update: my website has undergone something of an overhaul - figured it was about time I ditched my old Flash-based site (which was a royal pain to update) and move to something a bit more "elegant". I'd love to know what you think if you fancy checking it out :D

Picked it up. Some super quality here. I'll try to get back to you with a more detailed review. You have always released high quality work, Adam. I already know I won't be disappointed.

Hey Ad, just thought I'd drop a note to say hi, been a while since I've seen you round the forums, I only just started posting here at KVR not long ago, doing an upgrade of the studio, so i'm in the market for new vsts, hence my signing up for the KVR forums.

The new album sounds awesome. I'll buy a download copy of the album soon.

Love to know what kit/software you are using these days, compared to your Reason roots... is Reason still a feature of your studio?

It's funny, I got Reason 4 and Record but I never seem to use them. Moved on to Cubase as it has a much better sequencer and a lot more choice with the 3rd party vst's. Although I have to say my new prize possesion has to be the Focusrite Saffire Pro 40 sound card along with the Allan&Heath XONE VF-1 Tube filter, Love to put the Moog through it. Also got me a Roland TD-9 which I love smashing. Tried one of those new Alesis DM6 kits, had it less than a week and took it back, biggest piece of s*h*i*t I have ever used. have been auditioning a few of the high end accoustic drum vsts which sound amazing but haven't decided on which one to get. Anyway bla bla bla listen to me go on. Drop me a note, it'll be good to hear from ya.

Cheers mate

Thanks! Well, I can assure you that my earlier vocal attempts were pretty awful - I hope I've improved somewhat over the years! Glad you liked what you heard :D

Hey man! Great to hear from you again, it has been a while hasn't it?

I'm using Reason, Record and Reaktor a lot these days, though I've been dabbling a bit more with Alchemy lately as well (as someone pointed out - using Reason and Alchemy sounds a bit metaphysical! I should work Logic into there as well), though with this record there was a lot more focus on processed organic instrumentation as well - guitars, vocals, drums, found sounds, that kind of thing. I like the contrast between obsessive production and "imperfect" instrumentation, though it is still predominantly an electronic record.

I still use Cubase a bit for VST work, but find myself using Record a lot more. Both sequencers take very different approaches, but I much prefer Cubase's sequencer for orchestral work - the automation lends itself very, very nicely to that sort of thing. Funny you mention the Saffire Pro 40 as well - I'm using one of those myself after winning it in a competition :D (I was a happy chappy that day). I absolutely love it... the bundled plugs are a nice bonus as well, but the pre's are utterly fantastic. I've just picked up an R-05 for on-the-fly recording, looking forward to abusing that some :)

Great to hear from you!
