As I've mentioned here and there before, I'm working on a big soundbank for Logana. It's 'inspired' on the MemoryMoog factory patches (so NOT a straight emulation of those) and I'm working towards 100 presets. I have about 40 done so far and I like to hear if people are actually interested in this. The patchbank will of course be free

There are already some pretty good sounds in there if I might say so myself, stuff that sounds already good without adding any FX on it.

So let me know if you use Logana and are interested in this, so I have some reason to finish it

Any more takers ? Making this bank is a lot of work and if there are just a few guys wanting it I might go to 50 presets and release it then. If there is enough interest then I'll work on to the 100 presets.

I have to say that Logana is one of the most underrated synths around tmo. It does sound friggin great on it's own without the help of FX and multi-saw spread tricks and such. And when you do add some chorus (where appropriate), delay and/or reverb this thing is down right impressive.

I'm also looking forward to this. Logana sounds really nice, but I haven't found a lot of time for tweaking it and would definitely benefit from a nice full preset bank. Thanks in advance, CW aka TG!

Well, as it's 'inspired' on a 80's synthesizer there's lots of brass and strings sounds. Some pretty recognizable mini-lead sounds and oscillator-sync sounds are in there as well. I have to do some basses as well, and I got a very good sounding rock organ

Seriously, I have yet to get into Logana as I guess a bit underwhelmed by the preset test, but as is with many synths, there can be so much more than first impressions. Will be interesting what you come up with.

I'm waiting to dive into Zen for this bank to be finished. Then I can tag the sounds for Zen, should be a nice way to get into it

Yeah, I know. I didn't expect it to be this much work. Each preset takes between 15 and 30 minutes to do; first build the patch based on the moog-patchsheet (this part is pretty tedious), then tweaking it into something useful using Logana's features. So you can do the math about the amount of work involved

But I'm having lots of fun doing it

I'm going to do the full bank of 100 presets. Will take another few weeks, but I'll try to do a short teaser demo track coming weekend

UPDATE:

Not sure if I get to do a little sound demo this weekend, but...

I decided that ZEN is the new way to distribute presets. Way better then putting banks up on download sites and such. Also it gives the opportunity to build a preset-bank while users get access to the sound earlier. Like you get a subscription on the sound design.

So I'm getting close to 50 patches. I have requested a designer-key from Big Tick and when the first 50 patches are ready I'll upload them to ZEN and everyone can get them. After that I'll work on the rest of the bank, probably uploading every 10 new presets or such.

This also takes away the pressure for me to get to 100 presets, as lately I'm a bit swamped with (other) work and it would be a pity if the presets I have done already are laying here without anyone getting access to them.

When the full bank is finished I'll probably still zip it up and put it on KVR and Rekkerd, and give it to guitarbro so he can put it on his site too and/or bundle it with Logana.

So that concludes our news transmission, keep watching this channel
