Hello, I have some Midi files that have custom tempo maps, the tempo changes from part to part throughout the song. I loaded this Midi file into Cantabile into the Media File tab, and it does not appear to be reading the tempo changes. I have two files I need to play simultaneously, both running to different hardware devices, with tempo changes on each.
I composed the files in Cubase 5 and exported them to midi files, I made sure to export automation and any other necessary features.
Hoping someone can help! Thanks in advance for any consideration.

Will Cantabile read tempo changes from a MIDI file loaded in the Media Files?

I guess the only one who can answer this is Topten Software.
Probably this approach is in contradiction to the "master clock" concept actually used?
If you have two midi files which should be the master?
Probably what you want is each one is it's own master...
Anyway... I can't help it, sorry. Send a mail to Topten Software.
With some luck Brad recovers from cryogenic hibernation...

I just found it, in the 'Sync' settings for the Midi file in the Media Files section, I had to select Options and then make sure 'Start playback with master transport' is selected, and choose 'Don't synchronize timing, use file's internal timing' from the drop down box. Then I had to select the Sync settings again and choose 'Synced (No Timing Sync) from the Sync. Mode settings.
Voila! It's reading tempo changes like a champ.
