Seems all strange these days.

Nobody needs it really, but cool, indeed.

Perhaps I hold my original Rebirth box with manual and disc.

It could be worth a lot of money in 10 years. :hihi:

i bought this one immediately, and i am ashamed to say that I never use it. everything is just too small and irritating; i also hate how I can't save an audio or MIDI file and send it to myself.

I was playing it on the train home from work today - it sounds amazing. Anyone know how people make mods for it? A lot of the presets I have load different coloured skins and some even seem to use different samples.

In my opinion Propellerhead made a disrespectful decision in stopping giving support to the original Rebirth. I'm a registered owner of the original and it doesn't work under Windows 7 64 bit, I think it's fine to made it a free product, but since they released for the iPad, why not honor the original version and make an update?

I totally agree.

Would a petition be worth doing? If enough voices are heard, the props may reconsider their stance on this mighty fine piece of loveliness. Even if it means another commercial release.

What say you all?

I already expressed my disappointment to them back in 2005 via email. after all this years I bet lots of people did the same as I did. Another weird thing is, seeing Rebirth with the serial # under my account products on their site.

Isn't there a free Rebirth refill you can download from their site?

I still think ReBirth is an amazing and useable application. I dont usse it on the desktop computer but I agree, they should update the code for the newest OS.

i really enjoy the ipad version and I hope that they can add sample import so i can make my own mods - or at least add more mods ;]

Yes there is a refil for reason, but it's not the same fun as playing wth the Rebirth.

"To fill the gap left by the now discontinued ReBirth application, Propellerhead Software presents the ReBirth ReFill! A 100 mb monster ReFill that not only recreates the sounds of the original application, but also of all of the Mods that were available on the Propellerhead website.

The ReBirth RB-338 ReFill can be downloaded, free of charge, from the Propellerhead website ReFill section by all registered Reason users."

no, there is also the full Rebirth available on an ISO image for download. click on "Downloads" and then "ReBirth CD-ROM Image". needs registration.

I found the iPhone version difficult to use and grainy as hell. Im tempted by the iPad version but really don't want to drop $15 on it right now.
Meh.

I know, I have the original CD, but Rebirth does not work on Windows 7 (64 bit)

I sort of got ripped off with Rebirth. I bought it on the iPhone when it first came out. Last week I saw it for the iPad, and thought it was a Universal app. So i clicked to download..... Too late I realized that it did not inform me that I had already bought it, and so I have now bought both versions. The real pain is I really don't like or use it. Oh, well.... it's what I get for not paying attention....

I hate to disappoint you, but you are WRONG! It does work in Windows 7, even the 64bit edition. I did a whole liveset with it recently :)

All you need is a custom installer.

Very helpful, thank you. Just followed that PDF and got it running on this Win7 64 laptop.
