Hi all...
I'm new to iPhone, but I see a million apps for "scratchin", but none seem to record, scratch, and display the recorded waveform.
In short, I need a cross between baby scratch and touch the wave 2 ...
Anyone know of a recorder with dj style jog/shuttle or something that would act that way??

seems you're right. either you can record and arrange like iDrum Beatbox edition etc. scratch short phrases like SampleToy or you can DJ.

But did you already encounter Curtis'?
I guess this will be the closest to what you want. It's granular also.

Just for Touch DJ App from Amidio is excellent. I use this a lot. But you need a 3G+ device. It works on 2G Touch, too but load time are unacceptable in live set.

C'YA :)

ya...LOVE Cutis, but it's a little limited on iphone. REALLy would like to see released on itunes...but from what I see it doesn't offer the scrubbing/scratching effect...and while I've picked up iSample from WayOutWare, and it DOES scrub the audio, its not nearly as smooth on the audio as Baby Scratch, but that is really not the emphasis of iSample ;)
anyway...I've found several other "fixes" that offer additional functionality and really cool stuff- but just not exactly what I'm picturing.
there is still opportunity for someone to do a simple app that will do what I'm picturing ;)
(haven't ponied up to buy Touch DJ, though...)
thanks for the suggestions, mindnoise!

hi,
vice versa thanks, you pointed to to some apps I didn't know about yet.

Tapestri looks really interesting. It says it's available but itunes turns up with nothing, though.
I keep an eye on this one, def. :)

take a look at this one too...and just for fun, check THIS one out (go look at the videos. It's amazing and really a work of performance art in and of itself)
