To be honest, all I need is a shove in the right direction. Hence, really, help? ^^

I really like Psykosonik, a 90's dance band. Cheesy, but I wanted to ask if anyone could give me a quick analysis and further hints to produce a similar sound?

Example:

Just hints on production or how the songs are structured? Thanks ^^

Referring to the first two:

They have a basic verse/chorus structure but the main element other than drum loops and breaks is some kind of short driving melody or bass line loop. Come up with a track or group of tracks that build up a good loop-like drum groove (layer loops together for a complex sound and run everything at around 125 bpm), then come up with a couple fairly strong, driving synth tones and apply those to a couple main riffs.

The riffs should be short (one or two bars, no more than four) in order to get the repetitive effect. They seemed to be applying rhythmic gates on some things for a more chopped up effect in time with the beat.

Slam everything pretty hard with compressors to get the in your face sound. After you've got your basic tracks down, choose sections to apply filter sweeps to add some motion to the riffs, and add a few short breaks with short little melodic accents. The drums sounded like they could be a combination of acoustic and electronic.

My thought on this:

You can use any synth but you need to adjust EACH note with an equalizer. You can do that using an automation functionality in the DAW.

You go as if you would have used a chord but instead of using a chord you use equalizer to make one note sounds like it's a chord. And if you know how to compose, go with it, if you don't, you can totally learn it by copying it.

But it's such a painful work for me though... so hard to get the right sound using an automation....

For second one, You adjust volume of each note. Using an automation. But vocal's more important.

Oh third one is like an orchestra. Make two lines, make volume of one line slightly lower, make another one louder. AND adjust volumes of each drums not much a frequency work. Difference in volumes of two lines work like a chord or a counterpoint. If you know what difference in volumes in two lines mean I don't need to explain it to you. Well anyways, without vocal, this track is dead. Use frequency work on a vocal.
