Hi there. A couple weeks ago I accidentally washed my iPhone in the washing machine. While it came out sparkling clean with a remarkably fresh lilac scent, it was needless to say completely ruined. Rather than replace it with another iPhone I decided to go Android this time and just picked up the new HTC Inspire (I cannot say enough about this phone). Anyways one of my favorite and most used apps, the very handy Amazing Slow Downer is not available on Android and there are no plans for it in the future. Can someone recommend something similar to ASD?

I think you're going to be pretty dissapointed with the music software choices for Android, especially since you're coming from an iPhone. Not an Apple fanboy here, in fact I use an Android phone (HTC Hero) but the selection is still really small. There may be an app similar to what you're desrcibing but if there is I don't know about it. :D

Hey, I did a search in the Market and I found something called Audio Speed Changer which claims to pitchshift. Check it out.

Hello Orlando,

I develop (as a hobby) music apps for android and just a couple of weeks ago I released an app called "Audio Speed Changer". I created it just as a time stretcher but will (in a near future) ad pitch shifting options and other features, but probably in a non free version.
If you want a free time stretcher on android, I guess it is the only way to go. Let me know if you miss some features on it.
Also, as a musician you will need a metronome so check out "Mobile Metronome" also =).

Tnx,

Yeah I can look back on it now and lol. Took me a good week to get to that point though. I am very lucky that A) I had everything backed up, and B) my contract was about to expire anyways.

As far as a timestretcher, I don't know of any; but there are plenty of good Android Music making apps out there. You've got to try Uloops Studio, it's incredible all on it's own...and there's Electrum Drum Machine and Reloop sample arranger. Actually, Electrum has some timestretching functions with the chosen samples, which you can import. Individual drum hits can be long samples that time+pitch up and down to fit the tempo of the loop. And if you've got the know-how, there's an app called Jasuto that has an accompanying VST as well. It's a modular synthesis workspace that is a lot like logic sanded down to the skeleton. I'm sure if you follow the similar app links from these, you can find something to do the job.
