for sure projects are compatible with the real version, so as a scratchpad it will be great (since to a certain extent IIRC logic can open GB project)

It handles audio, but I'm not sure about MIDI - which may be more of an issue with the ports.

Not sure.... but iPad 2 is pretty damn sexy. 8)

The only thing that might hold me back from getting an iPad is there still doesn't seem to be an app that loads and plays MS Office Powerpoint slides properly which is something I really need a tablet to do.

Seems this will also work on ipad1 which is great news. I need confirmation about midi and USB audio but I'm still getting it. The keynote video showing GarageBand looked awesome.

GarageBand on the iPad looks to be compatible with the iRig and iRig mic. We are looking forward to it.

No doesn't look like it does midi edit. Can't get my bluetooth speakers to work with it. Quite good fun though
