Check out this video of the iRig Mic in a live field recording demonstration.
You will see video shot on an iPhone 3GS with the iRic Mic, followed by the same session through just the iPhone with no mic. See the difference iRig Mic makes here:

Sorry to dig up an old thread but have any kvr users compared this to the mikey from Blue? Thoughts? Not intended as a flamewar, just want to know the differences.

Cheer.

Not usre if anyone has but the Mikey doesn't work with the iPhone 4 and take up the data port. With our iRig Mic you can use the mic with any iOS device and still be able to charge the device at the same time. :)

Am digging Vocalive, but the deal killer on the Mic (for me, as I have an iPhone 4...) is THIS
anyone know if this stereo input problem can even be addressed?...or are iphone4 owners just SOL on this?
Really was hoping my phone was gonna be a "r09 killer" but that has not happened ;)

The iRig Mic uses the analog headset input, which gives the advantage of being able to charge your device while you use it, and you don't have to worry about Apple breaking future compatibility, as they have done already on the iPhone 4 digital input, as you have noted. You can even use iRig and iRig Mic on a new MacBook or iMac, since they now support the 3-ring iPhone headset plug.
