How to stop iTunes syncing iPhone and iPad 2 to each other

This is a bit annoying but you would think that iTunes would be intelligent enough to know that if I have a 64 GB iPad 2 the music I put in that is not going to fit my 16 GB iPhone and yet it keeps trying to sync the same songs to each - is there any way to make it sync them separately (same with apps - I download an app onto my iPad and when I sync my iPhone it's there too - I would like to have more control over this)

Hi, there are check boxes to tell itunes what you want to sync under the tabs that appear when you click on the attached device.You need to manually sync stuff so you get to choose what goes on each device.
