I'd wish having something to do music while I do long travels (around ten hours!).

I love samples and I love step sequencers and simple things. I was thinking into get a simple solution to do music while long travels, where I cannot use a mouse but I can use a trackpad. I'm thinking in:

- small laptop+renoise (good sample managing, cheap)
- ipad+isequence (small enough, long battery life, multitouch)

What do you think? Do you have a better option?

I'v got an old EEEpc and my solution it's Nanostudio
It's an Ipod small studio and the developer give the PC/MAC demo (fully functional) for free,so you can run on your small laptop and you have everithing you need to play

These is Nanostudio homepage http://www.blipinteractive.co.uk/index.php

I've been looking at Nanostudio to use on my iPad but haven't bought yet. I've been playing around with iSequence and found it to be quite useful. I saw a performer who used two iPads and he was using iSequence on one of them...got some killer sound coming out of it.

Another app I am seriously looking at is MusicStudio for iPad. There is a lite version to check out which is free - but the full version is the way to go I think. Up to 128 tracks - comes with some built in instruments and you can add some thru in-app purchases. The included synths are not as nice as some of the stand alones - but it sure seems like you can get some good sounds out of it. It's $14.99 and the full expansion pack is also $14.99 - or you can get smaller expansion packs.

Eventually I'll add something like MultiTrack DAW or Meteor, etc.
