VirSyn's Addictive Synth is my favourite. It sounds great and the hands on control is a superb way to work with this stuff. The Arp on this thing is really cool and keyboard works well for slides and stuff. Awesome. Grain Bender is really cool as well. Not many sounds built in but that's probably a good thing to get you programming. iMS-20 looks awesome as well but I've barely used it. There's a lot there. I don't know where to start!!

I didn't include a lot of patches in GrainBender because I wanted to encourage users to build their own. But if you have any really awesome patches you want to send me I'd be happy to roll them into the factory set in the next patch.

The Korg MS-20 and Electribe apps are the only ones I find worthy of serious attention. I've also dabbled with Jasuto Pro, but tend not to make much other than some aimlessly drifting ambient sine waves.

Good idea ;)

By the way how could I send you patches? Where are patches stored? (bit of a newb with the whole IOS file handling thing!)

Sunriser and Additive Synth are amazingly good. I would say they are must haves for any iOS collection.

No particular synths. I try to use those I buy to justify I bought them. Go-to synths are part of Daws such as Eden in NanoStudio and Beatmakers 2's sampler for which I have made some good sample libraries. Among synths that I have used in addition to these are:

Addictive
Crystal XT
NLog midi synth
Finger bassline
Rebirth HD
ISyn Poly
DXi
iMS20
Sunriser
SynthX
iVoxel (Vocoder)
Xenon (it's monophonic synth)
Argon
iSequence and iSequence hd (rompler groovebox)

I have a few synths in addition that I haven' t used yet such as Fl mobile' studio's rompler, Jasuto pro and noise.io synth pro, but I will get to these in time.

Cheers

Another vote for the Korg iMS-20. I just keep coming back to it. I think the fact that it is a full synth that has a half-decent sequencer and multiple tracks is its appeal. I also have NanoStudio but the interface on the iPad is a bit cumbersome - page after page! Great tool though.
